Palms Wilderness Retreat and Restaurant offers cosy
accommodation with warm African colours and textures in
beautifully decorated rooms & suites. Each room/suite has
its own private entrance into the gardens. Added details
include percale linen, coffee stations with home baked
biscuits, bathrobes, Charlotte Rhys toiletries and beautiful
crystal decanters with award winning Boplaas Port. Rooms are
also equipped with telephones and safes. The house offers a
homely lounge with satellite television. Here you will also
find the library with a wonderful selection of books on
South Africa, local guide books & maps, wildlife of South
Africa and Africa, African Art, Wines, Food and Travelling.

swimming pool for those relaxing days when you are tired of

Palms Wilderness Retreat and Restaurant is one of the best restaurants in
Wilderness, and has been for several years. Now, with the
re-furbished kitchen and restaurant, two young and
enthusiastic chefs and a whole new approach to offering
patrons true South African/Contemporary fare, created from
wholesome, fresh produce sourced daily, it is an experience
not to be missed. The restaurant offers sublime 4 course
dinners. There is a choice of starters, mains and deserts,
which change daily depending on available produce, and the
whims of our chefs. Enjoy a dinner in the cozy restaurant,
outside on the veranda or on the patio. Add to this a
selection of South African wines from the Palms Wine Cellar
and you will have an unforgettable evening! The temperature
controlled wine cellar offers a great selection of South
African wines. Home baked products and preserves are on
offer. Arrange a picnic for your day on the beach or to take

Palms
Wilderness Retreat and Restaurant is well situated to
accommodate guests visiting the Garden Route. The guest
house is situated a mere 5 minutes walk from the beautiful
unspoilt beaches of Wilderness or the boardwalk along the
lake. For a closer look at the beauty of Wilderness and what
the surrounds have to offer, don your hiking boots and head
off with a well packed picnic and enjoy a day canoeing up
the Touw River, hike to the waterfall or one of the several
hikes through breathtaking indigenous forests within the
2500ha Wilderness National Park. A birders paradise. Take a
day drive to Knysna & Plettenberg Bay, or visit Monkey Land,
Elephant Sanctuary or Birds of Eden. Enjoy a game drive at
the Rhino Base Camp – viewing wild life from an open
Land Rover with a qualified guide. Stop off at “the Big Tree”
in the Millwood Forest, take the ferry to Featherbed
reserve, or do some dolphin and whale watching.
Play golf at any of the world-renowned golf courses within
driving distance from the Palms. George Country Club,
Fancourt, Oubaai, Knysna Golf Club, Pezula Championship
Course, Plettenberg Bay Country Club or Simola Country Club.
For the more adventurous you can do some paragliding or
