The luxury thatched Benguerra Lodge offers exclusivity in a tranquil and remote setting. Merged into a natural milkwood forest bordering Benguerra Bay and encircled by silver beaches, coral reefs and turquoise seas.

Accommodation at Benguerra Lodge

Inspired by the island's natural beauty the Lodge roofs are constructed of thatch and reeds whilst palm fronds were used for the walls. The 11 chalets, all built on stilts, are rustic and charming. Local screen-printed fabrics, faux bamboo furniture, seashells and indigenous basket ware blend together to create a colorful interior. Each chalet features an ensuite bathroom and a balcony overlooking the sea.

The exclusive and private Villa is ideal for honeymoon couples and family special occasions. Set away from the rest of the complex, guests enjoy total privacy and a personal chef is available to prepare all meals and refreshments. The Villa consists of two double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, intimate lounge and dining area with hand carved mahogany table. Outside on the wooden deck is a Jacuzzi/plunge pool for relaxation.

Attractions and Activities at Benguerra Lodge

Meals are fresh from the sea, with delicacies such as exotic Portuguese dishes, crayfish, crab and calamari all tantalizingly prepared for you. Lunches are a relaxed affair served in different settings and are always with inspired by your chef. There is also a swimming pool for those wanting a less salty swim.

Small herds of red duiker still roam the islands, carving out a precarious existence alongside freshwater crocodiles and samango monkeys. The reefs are fertile breeding grounds for turtles, dolphins and dugongs. After a day diving or snorkeling, enjoy a trip to Pansy Island to collect a few rarely seen pansy shells or visit the South Point of Bazaruto to climb a dune and view Two-Mile Reef from another angle.
Or enjoy a Dhow Cruises, Deep Sea Fishing, Saltwater Fly Fishing, a Picnic, Bird watching or an Island Drive
