Walkerson’s is the most prestigious estate in the Dullstroom area - filling all those who visit with warm respite and a sense of serene country lifestyle. Walkerson’s offers an escape to the country and if fine living appeals to your sensibilities, you will find exactly what you are looking for in this serene eastern highlands valley. Walkerson’s is nestled in a vast valley on an historic estate, not too far from the vibrant village of Dullstroom.
Dullstroom is well known as being one of the highest villages in South Africa, it is also well known for it’s Anglo Boer War stories, great trout fishing, hospitality, and the fact that it is half way to the renowned Lowveld and Kruger National Park. We recommend a stop in the village of Dullstroom for one of its legendary pancakes, a visit to the Duck & Trout, (A legendary pub & restaurant), or just to enjoy a brows through the many village shops.
At Walkerson’s, take a drive down into a discrete valley and you will discover the renowned Walkersons Hotel. It is the finest boutique hotel in the area, offering guests warm hospitality and fine, memorable experiences. Being a boutique hotel, there are only 24 beautifully appointed rooms consisting of 22 Lakeside suites, 1 Highland Suite and 1 Manor Suite (Family suites). Rooms are romantic and refined, each with an en-suite bathroom, a lake view, private patio, fireplaces, a well-stocked mini-bar, television, telephone and wall safe. All rooms are individually decorated.
The hotel has a swimming pool and an award winning wine cellar. The wellness centre has three treatment rooms, a Hydrotherapy Jacuzzi and a Gym. Trained therapists will ease away the stress and aches of everyday life as you relax tired muscle and revive your flagging spirit. Four kilometers of perennial river flow through the valley, and 14 lakes and dams, all stocked with rainbow trout, make Walkersons a fly-fisher's paradise.
For horse-riders, the equestrian centre provides stables, paddocks and groomsmen. Outrides can be arranged, we recommend only experienced riders engage with this past-time. A network of paved paths extends throughout the 800 hectare estate and up into the mountain reserve, making walking trails pleasantly simple. Paved paths make it easy for either a hearty jog or a lazy, pleasant, riverside stroll.
Two conference rooms can accommodate 20 and 40 people respectively. Both rooms are equipped with all amenities of the highest standards and should you require more specific equipment or something out-of-the ordinary, we will do everything possible to accommodate your particular needs. The Walkersons Hotel grounds are ideal for weddings and other such memorable functions. The function room and chapel are able to accommodate up to 100 people intimately, yet comfortably and other arrangements can easily be made for larger parties should you desire.
