Accommodation at Londolozi
Safari Lodge
Londolozi Tree Camp embodies the very
essence of Londolozi - redefining the safari
experience by continually transcending guest
expectations. This is a place of connoisseurs,
leopards, orchids, lanterns and Leadwood. In every
detail and feature, from the private swimming pools
and contemplation decks (Salas), to the Ralph Lauren
wallpaper and chocolate coloured plaited-leather
beds, this exclusive camp provides a matchless
showcase of African safari excellence.
Londolozi Pioneer Camp is unique,
peaceful and remote. This wild untrammelled
wilderness still defines the Pioneer Camp
experience. A colonial influence is evident in the
elegant cream interiors, silver teapots at high tea
and Portmeirion crockery. Great sanctuaries are
themed with historic memorabilia, telling a story of
a bygone era and furnishing an environment of
leisurely indulgence
Londolozi Granite Private Suites
offer an extraordinary experience for no more than
six guests. A palette of silver, charcoal and elephant grey,
creates an elegant and contemporary setting in each
expansive suite. A seamless integration with nature
is achieved with large doors and windows all opening
directly onto the river. Each suite has a private
swimming pool. Granite Suites can be booked
individually or as a private camp for six guests,
making it ideal for intimate family celebrations.
Londolozi Varty Camp is known as the
symbolic heart and soul of Londolozi. The decor
echoes tones of the Varty's own home and their
continuing love affair with the earth. All room
sanctuaries have private swimming pools framed by
timber decks, overlooking the riverbank. The living
spaces are raised off the ground and shaded under a
cathedral of trees. This is also the location of the
Life Wellness Centre, Living boutique and Jon Varty
Cinematography Centre; all intended to widen the
experience.
Londolozi Founders Camp honours past
guests and staff who have contributed to building Londolozi and assisting in distilling all the
ecotourism learning of the past 30 years into a
singular state. Five idyllic sanctuaries repose in
the shade of ancient Ebony and Matumi trees along
the banks of the Sand River. This is safari in the
classic style, replete with classic black and cream
ticking fabric and original mahogany beds. Deep
leather couches, military chests, compass safari
lamps and a riverside lounge sala, create a mood of
easy luxury and laid back welcome for discerning
families and travellers.
Attractions & Activities
at Londolozi Lodges
All activities at Londolozi are geared for personalisation and
customisation, ensuring that every guest is able
to enjoy their optimal balance of rest and play.
Londolozi offers some of the best game viewing
in all the Sabi Sands. There are two scheduled
drives – dawn and dusk – the best times to view
game on the move. Exploring on foot in the
company of a ranger is really encouraged as a
means of truly engaging in the natural
environment. You could consider setting out on a
daylong trail or a shorter bush walk.
The activities offered at “Londolozi Life” – are
designed to reflect and harmonise with the
rhythms and cycles of nature. Londolozi Life
offers the means of creating balance – in body,
mind and soul – through the understanding that
living in nature promotes healing and harmony.
Essentially this means that we cater for you
mind, body and spirit through carefully selected
exercises and therapies.
Other features include a library with a wide
collection of books, magazines and board games.
The Londolozi Cub and Future Nature Bush School
programs will open up the magic of the
wilderness for your children. “Cubs” is
available at no extra charge for children under
the age of 10. Another option is a visit to the
local Shangaan Cultural Village, which honours a
past history and rich culture, were you are
invited to contemplate the sustainability of our
modern civilization against the wisdom and
sustainability of ancient cultures.
