The Kasaka River Lodge lodge is a 16 bed luxury en-suite tented camp situated on private property on the banks of the Zambezi River in Chiawa Game Management Area a mere 4 kilometers by road from the Lower Zambezi National Park – this is the only stretch on the 2,700 kilometer course of the Zambezi River where one finds National Parks on both banks of the river – the Lower Zambezi National Park in Zambia and the famed Mana Pools World Heritage Site in Zimbabwe.

The Kasaka River Lodge is situated in a natural bush environment with each chalet secluded amongst the native flora. The gardens around the lodge are a colorful blend of indigenous plants with paths weaving from the chalets to the pool, restaurant, library, and bar areas.

Accommodation at Kasaka River Lodge

Chalets:
The 8 Kasaka River Lodge chalets are luxury tented and tastefully decorated with an authentic African flavor. Each has an elegantly furnished en –suite bathroom whilst the honeymoon suite has an open-air bath overlooking the river. Guests have an option of staying on the “tame” side with manicured gardens nearest the swimming pool or on the “wild side” which is connected by overhead walkways to allow for the passage of wildlife within the camp.

Honeymoon suite:
The honeymoon suite is the last chalet on the river’s edge to the west of the “wild side” and affords maximum privacy. The sleeping area is a fully insect proof 4.68 meter x 3.50 meter tent (16,38 square meters) on a slasto slab with en-suite toilet, shower and hand basin and an adjacent open-air stone and brown oxide finished bath overlooking the river.

The Kasaka River Lodge bar lounge and dining area nestle amongst huge tamarind trees and are the perfect location for relaxing, whilst watching the world go by on the river – the extended decking from the dining area allows for open air dining under the stars. Meals are of the highest standard and preparation is supervised under the watchful eye of our Swiss catering manageress

The comfortably furnished Kasaka River Lodge thatched library boasts double seating leather loungers, wing back chairs and lengthy cushioned benches and overlooks the river and a log fire burns on cooler evenings – this is the ideal setting if you wish to sit by the fire and read or just relax after your day’s activities. The library offers books of interest related to Africa and it’s abundant flora and fauna and a variety of board games are available on request.

The Kasaka River Lodge pool is kidney shaped and approximately 6 meters long x 4 meters wide, and is located on the “tame” side of the lodge overlooking the islands on the Zambezi River opposite the camp. Eight cushioned pool loungers and two hammocks are available to help you relax during the quieter part of the day under three large umbrellas. Pool towels are available on request. The pool is treated with a salt-water chlorinator plus the addition of HTH and pool acid when necessary and cleaned and vacuumed on a daily basis. A waiter service is available for drinks at the pool.
